We survived quite a weekend! Pentecost so extra long! We played 3, (3!!!!) Times!
Friday we played at Barbara’s House, She lives in an old school in ‘s-Hertogenbosch, so a very high room but we had to move the table out! She’d invited about 6 people, but as we stood waiting in the hall before starting, more and more people piled into the room. It was a fun night!
Saturday we went to a party in Brussels but didn’t play (it was a lot of fun anyway!)
Sunday we played in our own Living room for some very good friends, who visibly enjoyed themselves after which we went into town, Jazz festival :Jazz in Duke town, not so much Jazz but a lot of fun! Dancing all night!
Monday we played near Ghent at Maarten’s confirmation party (is that what you call it?) Beautiful weather, played in a tent. some pictures

We played at a decaration d'Amour (a not wedding, but lots of love) of friends, as a present. and not in a living room. But Love Songs none the less, And it was very well received, Gertrude was a bit mean.... but funny. And Gerard as always! A very serious intro,
and a happy Audience

And so it's monday again! after a very eventful weekend for Vonck-Vlam! Friday in our own livingroom and then Saturday Surprise party for Barbara, a very good friend, in the Ardennes in Belgium. In a big Tent, It went really well. We met a few people who might have some connections in Istanbul!!! We'll get there.!
We stayed up late singing, I even have a blister fom playing my Ukulele, hahaha.
I'll get back to work, adding stuff to our site! We had our first reaction in the guestbook from people that actually saw Love Songs in the Living! Thanks Edith & Michel! And thanks for the lovely cd! we played it al the way to the Ardennes and back!
Yesterday we showed the show again in our living room, We had about 25 people, And they had and we had a lovely time. The show is really getting better. We had some good remarks from Vincent's Dad who is an authority on clowning, so ... all our parents were there, good friends, and neighbours.
I feel very happy, it seems to be going the way we want it to!
I love the way people react to our travelplans, one of our neighbours want to organise a party to raise money for our departure, brilliant!
Well, stil at it what a lot of work! I had a sore shoulder for sitting at the computer!
suppose it'll be worth it in the end, I said something on Facebook about the website. We're getting our first reactions! brilliant. on I plough!
I'm getting excited now! It's becoming so real! Isn't it wonderful to wake up one morning with an inkling of an Idea, and feeding it sweet dreams, and other impossibilities, and then watch it grow not only in me but into the world around me.
Slowly I, started, we started dreaming out loud, looking for songs on eBay, markets and internet. Choosing adapting and learning songs. Looking for a character and dressing them, finding a voice and a walk for them and a relationship. Oh it has been so much fun. Of course we’ve had our ups and downs, I mean, we’re a couple, we have three kids!!
And then starting to show to neighbors and friends bits and bobs of our material.
Getting our first reactions , impressions of how it would be in somebody’s Livingroom.
A name for us and it…Vonck & Vlam with Love Songs in the Living
Gerard Vonck & Gertrude Vlam
And and and so many steps to take!
