Jyoti Vennix & Vincent Verbeeckmeet during their studies at the Theatre school in Brussels (www.lassaad.com) in 1990. They finish their study after a joint workshop on the work of Samuel Beckett.
Afterwhich Jyoti tours in Scotland (Clown Jewels) and Europe with a Dutch Street theatre Company ( Lady Komedie), whilst Vincent Cooperates on a project in Austria (theater Tanto) and in several theatre plays in Belgium. Back in Belgium Jyoti Co-founds 'Les Six faux nez' (www.sixfauxnez.net)
They move to 's-Hertogenbosch in the Netherlands where Jyoti studies Ceramics at the Academy of Art and Design.
And Vincent finds work with several Dutch theatre companies as a freelancer, (Artemis, Saga, De Citadel). Performs with 'Het Paleis' in Antwerp, makes a Solo 'de reis van ijs' (the journey of ice) and works with father Herman Verbeeck: 'een ontgoocheling' based on the work of Willem Elsschot, (A Disappointment). Often his Accordion and voice are an essential part of the performance.
After several successful years of ceramic and mixed media work, Jyoti misses performing so much that she starts to perform again! (with Olivier Provily, Teatro Punto, open stage puppet theatre Ostadetheatre, stilttheatre Tiramisu).
Physical theatre and clowning keep reappearing.
The Idea to work on a show together is new. It was born from Jyoti’s love for early Jazz music, and the joy of playing music together, Ukulele, Accordion and singing. And once we found costumes, Gerard Vonck and Gertrude Vlam were born, and they started looking for the right songs.
in the summer of 2009 they travelled all the way to Istanbul with their show Blog
